Thing 2 and Thing 3 made it home

Erin - "Homework on the first day !!" "Mr Dokolas is so nice" "My bookbag is sooo heavy!"

Nate - "I hate 3rd grade, it's so long !" (his first year to go until 3:05 instead of 2:15) "Did you make cookies ?"

First In !!

Heather had a wonderful day. She came home and informed me that she did great ! She was the first one to remember her library # (also the number they need to type in to get lunch) and she is a straight A student. GOOD NEWS !

The Quiet is almost scary !

I know we've all looked forward to this day for the past two weeks ! But now I'm not quite sure what to do with myself ! I guess laundry and every other bit of housework that's gone undone lately. But I'll be honest - I can't wait for them to get home and tell me all about the first day - I know - I'm a little nutters !

The sigh heard 'round the world ! They're off to school !

Erin has shoes - everyone has underwear ! This morning I told Nate - "go get dressed so we can go get you a couple of new outfits for school" ( he has a ton of clothes and really doesn't need anything but I figured he ought to have something new for the first day right ?) He replied " UGH ! I hate shopping ! can't you just go get me something !" I (astonished because the girls would no sooner let me shop for them as let me chew their food) said - "YOU BET !!" and off I went ! School clothes shopping isn't nearly as bad without any whining children ! Anyway - I found him a couple of things - great deals - and didn't have to argue one lick !
